The party makes a steady pace along the Lumber Road. It curves slowly through the dense forest into the wild, in most places the road is about 8 feet wide.
The road is flanked by fairly dense thicket on both sides, visibility is generally limited to about 20 feet in.
The party walks for 4 hours, covering 20 kilometers at a steady pace. As they approach a gentle curve in the road, flanked by high, weathered rock, a cacophony of noise breaks out ahead.
The sound of shouting and the telltale hiss of arrows breaks the silence scant meters ahead, just around the corner of the rocks. A donkey brays loudly, the sound of a wounded beast bellowing in pain.

Minna's Hatchets come out the moment the commotion begins, a practiced hand flinging them up from the belt loops and into her hands. A wolfish grin crawls across her face, and her eyes grow a little wider in excitement. She lets out a low chuckle before saying "Well it's 'bout time we get to the violence; tree's is nice and all but i think it's time we added a lil red to the pallet"

Sweaty palms find pistols tunic, yet it provides little in the way of relief, only a reminder that one of these bandits might prefer a quiver that is man-sized and strapping. Falling silently in step close behind Faye and Minna, I listen intently over the outcropping, with my eyes straining for a suitable escape.

The lazy swinging stops and Minna tenses up suddenly. The smile that grows on her face has no mirth, and speaks overwhelmingly of violence. She taps the butt of her right hatchet on Faye's shoulder, and when she has her attention motions with the blade towards the noise. She turns towards the sound and prepares to charge down the first thing she sees. The grin only grows wider as she anticipates the fight to come

Just maybe, as Pistol pushes himself harder against the rocks to his back, I may become one of them, and will go unnoticed, for rocks neither bleed nor die. Pistol reaches for a smooth stone between his legs, contemplation adorns his features and he gives the light rock a few squeezes, tossing it easily into the air and catching it again. Yes, I'm quite sure, bones would be much better off if they were made of stone. Pistol's eyes find Minna's face much more interesting at the moment than trying to discern the unknowns of the bush, for hopefully she already knows what is out there and what I may be trying to hit.

Minna lets out a quick snort of laughter and the wolfish smile cracks slightly with some mirth. Pistol's quiet tune reminds her of the war drums that her last company was so fond of. Her heart seems to beat in time with the rhythm as the footsteps grow closer. Suddenly, the footsteps turn to a sprint and she bursts into action, uncoiling like a spring let free of tension. "YEEEEEEARGH!!!!" Minna lets loose a battle cry and charges towards the sound ready to bury her axes into the first thing she sees, her eyes wild and baring her teeth in excitement

Realzing he can't rely on a mixture of skill and luck to continue blocking the arrows flying from the treelines, and seeing the priest who he so recently mocked charge headlong into bushes, Bartly rapidly follows the man he finds puzzling when compared to the priests who muttered the last rites over so many of his friends lost on the battlefield. He slipped to the right, preparing to follow up the priest's attack with his own. "Easy Priest, can't have you needing to ask for penitance."

(@kyle, the same thing happened to me with my attack... I blame the RNG... Something I can't change as an Admin. I will continue looking into this issue.)

The archer to the front of Bartly and Eric turns pale and stops screaming. He glances down at his mangled arm before collapsing unconscious into the brush.
Turning to face Faye with a snarl, the ragged man swings out with his spear. Faye attempts to avoid the wicked flurry of swings, but catches the solid wooden side of the haft in the cheek, splitting her lip and dizzying her momentarily.
The final archer has torn off into the woods, apparently having chosen discretion over valor.
