"Everyone, I must ask we all vacate the premise, so that I may perform last rights upon these poor innocents." Erik makes a sweeping gesture with his arms before pulling out his pocket bible, reading scripture about the afterlife.
Re: Game 1 - Dies Irae
Karl climbs down from his perch and pokes his head in the cabin. The priest is jabbering on but Karl ignore's him and informs the others "there are berries in the meadow, a meagre breakfast but if any would like to join me..... "

Re: Game 1 - Dies Irae
Minna wakes up in the chair and immediately loses her balance, falling hard onto the floor. "Gods dammed fuck thats one shitty way to wake up..." She stands slowly, dusting herself off and reaching for her flask. She hears the priest talking about last rights and vacating, and replies "Sure thing there holy man, jus lemme see if they got any good liqour or tobacco kicking around..." as she begins to rifle through the cabinets and drawers of the home

>Minna: Among the kitchen supplies and food stores, you locate a small tin of chewing tobacco in the kitchen.
>Erik: You prepare to bless the final resting place of the cabin dwellers. God shall take them into his warm embrace.

"Oh there is a god and he is good!" Minna exclaims brightly and with a laugh, as she pulls the tin of chew from the cupboard. She turns from the mess of items strewn about and passes the priest on her way out, already packing her lip with the tobacco. "feel free to do priestly shit there old man, i gots what i came for"

(Just pretend this post happens after everyone is woken and leaves. I need to leave for ~1 hour)
"... and may their spirits live forevermore in your loving embrace." Erik says with a bowed head. See the majority of the party has left, the priest proceeds to relight the torch, and throws it into the wood pile. "Requiescat in pace." He says quietly as he leaves the building, collecting his mace. "Alright," The priest says, suddenly in a much chipper tone, "Shall we continue?"

Faye gets up and moves outside looking to see if there are any animal tracks so she can restock the groups supplies.

>Faye: During your hunt for the rabbits, you find a small section of crumbled down wall, along with ancient lichen covered cobblestone. You've heard stories that long before Midland existed, another kingdom was once located on this land.
As you turn to leave, you swear for just a moment you hear distant subterranean skittering.
But then it stops, and you are left back in your silent reverie, as the sun continues its rise in the scarlet sky above you.

No good stories are of gods, only heroes and their demons. pistol stares at the mask in his hands as he contemplates what it means to be a hero, and if he is willing to pay the price, one those around him seem so familiar. Scurrying ahead of Pistol draws his attention, and fixing the mask on his face he calls back to the cabin, trying to yell louder than the crackling flame. "I dont think were alone out here, is everyone accounted for?" Falling into a crouch Pistol continues to scan the brush for any signs

He releases his shot just as you spot him, giving you time to throw yourself down as the arrow cuts past you, embedding itself in the side of the timber framed cabin. As soon as you call out to your companions, the man turns on his heel and begins dashing back into the forest.

Pistol explodes off all fours and gives chase, listening more to the sounds of the archer in the forest than trying to see him, in an attempt to run parallel.

Minna hears the bard call out, but pays little mind, focused more on packing her lip with tobacco. With the task complete she looks up in time to see an arrow come flying out of the forest, landing several feet to her left. She spits on the ground and smiles before saying "be willing to bet money that it's our boy from yesterday back with some friends."
She flicks her axes up out of their belt loops and walks after the sounds of crashing brush, watching the forest around her for movement. "im all for running headlong into violence, but i ain't stupid and this smells like an ambush" .

Tips of fingers graze the smooth stone Pistol had placed within his pocket the day before, a momento of the first day of adventure. He grips it tightly, feeling its weight before cocking his arm back. Steadying his breathing, Pistol lets fly the polished stone, in a somewhat vain attempt to drop the archer before he reaches his horse.

Re: Game 1 - Dies Irae
The rain pours down around you. Visibility becomes difficult and everything becomes slick. The air is still warm and slightly muggy, it seems even the rain can't cut through the mornings humidity. The trees shake gently as the harvest winds storm down off the distant mountain range.
Pistol: You toss the rock as hard as you can. It sails out in a smooth arc just as the archer attempts to mount his steed. You miss the archer by a few centimeters, but the rock overshoots, hitting the horse in the back of the head.
The horse dashes off down the road, as the man crumples into a heap in the dirt where moments ago his saddle was.
Bartly: As you watch Pistol toss the rock, you are suddenly jarred by a distant throaty growl. It seems to be coming from deep in the forest towards the cabin, but the sound was unnervingly loud. It's getting hard to see much in the woods, as the rain picks up around you it is pouring fairly consistently down your helmet.
Karl: You stand up from cover, whipping around to face the sound in the forest to your south. You recognize that growl immediately. It must be a Gorger down from the mountains. Probably smelled all the blood on the wind from yesterday. By your reckoning it's probably an adult male, about 30 feet tall. You faintly remember seeing what a 20 footer did to a patrol of soldiers years ago and shudder.
Faye: You carefully search through the ancient ruins a few hundred meters away from the rest of the party. It looks vaguely like there might have been some sort of town wall here, and hints of a mill.
You distantly hear a low grumbling, most likely the sound of thunder, but before you pay it any heed you come across a small flight of stairs covered by partially collapsed masonry and lichen. They must have led down into some sort of basement when there were buildings here.
The stairwell appears to go down a few meters before opening up into an underground room.
Minna & Erik: Perception is no longer necessary, you are close enough to Bartly and Pistol to see and hear what they do.

Taking the chance to close the distance on the felled archer, Erik rushes the position, mace in hand. "We let you run like the craven mess you are," He yelled while running, "And yet you still return? Had you not loosed the arrow I would say you should beg forgiveness!" As Erik reaches the struggling form of the archer, he brings his mace high, preparing for a quick strike. "You are in God's hands now, heathen."

"It is funny," Erik says, stalling the hammer blow, "How those without God will always reach to him in their last moments." Hearing Bartly call out to him, Erik takes a peek behind his shoulder, before turning back to the downed bandit. "The Lord has blessed you with a choice this day," He says, poking him in the chest with the head of his mace. "In His grace, I give you the option: Turn yourself in to the town of Wickenshire where you will work off your sins under me, or turn down this offer, and know that while the Lord forgives, He also takes vengeance on those who shun his flock."
With that, the priest turns back towards Bartly. "Hear what?" He asks, a puzzled expression on his face as he strains his ears to listen.
