Seeing the bandit in front of him fall unconscious, Eric readies his mace for the final blow.
"Give to them according to their work and according to the evil of their deeds; give to them according to the work of their hands; render them their due reward." With the final word, He lowers the heavy on the bandits skull. "Deus Vult."

Minna lets out a short barking laugh, quickly regaining her footing, and turning around in time to see Faye catch the bandit in the ribs. As she steps free of the shrubs and cuts the distance between herself and the bandit, her smile grows slightly colder as the bandit draws blood on Faye. She places herself between Faye and the Bandit, bringing down both her hatchets and attempting to catch him on the collar bone.

>Eric: With a wet thud you cave the bandits head in, rivulets of blood and bone fragments spatter across the bottom of your robes.

>Minna: Turning lithely on your heel, you readjust to attack the bandit again. The ragged man is fully focussed in his savage assault on Faye and only turns in time to be caught on both sides of the collar by each hatchet. His eyes lock with yours, finally showing a hint of fear, before the sharpened blades decapitate him in a shower of carmine gore.

Eric drags the now headless corpse out of the woods, into the field, calling out to his compatriots "Is everyone alright? The Lord has blessed us with this victory, but we must remain vigilant of further trials." After setting the body down in the grass, Eric makes the gesture of a cross over the headless body.

As the Bandits eyes grow wide Minna's smile becomes feral, her face a mask of savage joy. Her hatchets don't cut clean, and the blades cut a ragged line through his neck. Arterial spray shoots out, painting a crimson line on her face. She lets out a quick woop of victory, before looking towards Faye, the wildness in her eyes shrinking back and her smile becoming a little less savage. When Faye thanks her she chuckles slightly before saying "Not a problem, had bit of a close call with the spear there eh? dammed if i don't prefer a knife fight, least then they can't just hang back out of my reach." She looks around and listens for a second, the sounds of battle having faded she says "Seems like thats all of em, lets see what this bugger's got".

With that, she crouches down next to the body, boots in a rapidly cooling puddle of gore. She wipes the blood on her face, succeeding only in smearing it, and precedes to rifle through the bandits belongings.

Pistol, leaning against a tree just out of sight, slides his mask up slightly and vomits bile into the blood splattered shrubs at his feet. who writes a hero's song when none around are left to stand...is this what it means to be a hero? wiping his mouth and spitting, he slides the mask back down and creeps around the tree to approach the bloody maidens. watching with little interest as Minna scavenges the body, Pistol is concentrating more on the features of the man before him. calloused hands from farm equipment not a sword, the clothes of a man who lived on the road, whos bones will dry and crack upon it. Turning sourly, Pistol walks back towards the road, and farther away from the life he left behind.

>Minna: A crude spear rests heavily upon a crushed fern to the man's side. The ragged khaki robes the man wore seem lice infested, and are now soaked in blood.
As you rummage through his pockets, you find a small coin purse in his back pocket holding three Marks.
Strangely the man does not appear to be carrying any rations or survival gear on his person whatsoever.

Minna pockets the coins and stands up, cracking her back as she does so. "Bout time we made camp me thinks, while theres still some daylight left." She suddenly furrows her brow and turns towards Faye before saying "actually, i bet these boys already have a camp set up, they dont have anything on them in the ways of food or gear. Probably close by too"

Eric moves away from the bandit to whom he just gave last rights, moving towards the party. "You are welcome to join us, for the night, my child," he says to the now cart-less wanderer. "It is sure to be cold this night, and night approaches quickly." Not bothering to see if the man was following, Eric made his way back to the party. "I trust no one is hu—" He starts saying, before noticing Faye's wound and rushing to her.

"My child, are you okay?" He asks, placing his hands in a non-threatening area, silently asking permission to inspect the wound.

>Karl: You are able to recover the broadhead, but the shaft of the arrow has shattered. Unfortunately your assailant does not seem to have left anything behind except for some drying, purplish saliva. He must have been chewing Rhael root, known for it's ability to slow heart rate and steady the hand.

>Eric: You can think of a few herbs and tinctures which might hasten the healing of Faye's wound, but unless someone is willing to go looking for them, you can only recommend that she drinks some water and gets a bit of extra rest.

Sitting back against the rocky outcropping, a song came of its own accord, Pistols eyes fall on his bloodied companions, and of the man by the carriage pulling arrows from his shield. Tired eyes, maybe a little sleep will do him some good, now that all the excitement is over, are these hard stones or pillows I lay upon, so it seems I lay with mother earth tonight.

Eric stops reaching forward as a thoughtful expression crosses his face, "I will be back," He says to Faye, "Keep pressure on the wound, you must keep as much of the Red Bile in your body as possible." He then turns and runs back to the clearing, searching for a small yellow budded flower with white leaves. 'The plant is basically a weed, so I shouldn't have too much trouble finding it...' HE thinks to himself as he scans the area.

(I misstyped in my last post, Red Bile should be blood)

Placing both ingredients in a belt pouch, Eric moves back towards the party, hoping Faye kept pressure on the wound. Blood deficiencies took time to replenish and could lead to dyscrasia, which would mean one less member of the party could enact Gods will.

Upon returning to the party, Eric pulls out a small amount of the yellow flower buds and starts chewing them. "Lady Faye, I am warning you, this will hurt at first, but will numb the pain, and increase the speed at which your liver matures your blood. Hopefully not much has escaped." He takes the wad of chewed up flower out of his mouth, and presents it to the huntress. "I will need to insert this into the wound. It will motivate the Phlegm to come to the surface to speed healing, and the Yellow Bile to cover the wound. From there, one of the leaves will adorn the wound like a bandage, Doing much the same as the buds, but without the numbing effect."

You walk for approximately 20 minutes before cresting a low ridge in the woods, overlooking a small clearing. In the center of the clearing, approximately 100 meters ahead, lies a small timber cabin. The smoke you saw is gently pouring from a chimney, but other then that there are no obvious signs of life. The door to the cabin is shut and the window shades drawn. There is a small lumber pile twenty feet from the door, and a woodcutters axe rests atop the stack.

Crunching stones cause Pistols eyes to flutter and stir, a tired focus falling upon the lupine predator before him, a smile, or was it a snarl and heavy scars deep set upon the face of the beast as she cleans and admires the sharpness of her axe heads. A dog of war whos not quite full "Right, well enough then Lady Minna, have you seen our comrades in arms?" With the last words Pistol raises a taut fist to the air and looks off into the distance sheepishly. Dramatics, she is a woman after all. Her acknowledgement ends at the twang of spit on her axe as she continues to buff vigorously. " ...Right, excellent, that way, thankyou milady" Pistol stands up fully and bends to a slight bow, sweeping his hand widely infront of himself before trotting off in the direction of a thin tower of smoke rising from within the trees.[/i]

"Since when do bandits have cabins?" Bartly queries in Faye's general direction. Thinking to himself, he wonders if it still could be a very well setup band, or if it is just a homesteader. Of course, he could stand here and wonder or just go find out. Only going to get hungrier standing here. "Maybe just hang back, in case, y'know...." With that Bartly walks up to the cabin, leaning his shield against the outside wall, but still holding his weapon loosely at his side, and briskly knocks on the door.

Eric, having applied his healing salve to Faye (and not even a thank you), moves to follow her, and subsequently the entire party towards the cabin. "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." He mumbles to himself, before drawing the cross in the air. With a heave of his mighty weapon, he sets off.

Minna admires the shine on her axe heads, seeing her reflection in the steel. Though mostly wiped away, speckles of blood still paint her cheeks and and she moves to wipe them off. A beast of war she may be, but a beast can be brought low by disease just as surely as a blade.

She glances after the strange man, headed towards the thin trail of smoke in the sky. "Lady Minna" she says quietly, followed by a short chuckle, "My ass". She takes a quick swig of her flask, before standing up. Her long gait closes the distance quickly and she catches up to pistol in no time, keeping her axes loosely at her side in case this bandit duo has a few more members.

While Bartly moves towards the cabin, Faye scans the area looking for track that would indicate the number of people that use this dwelling.

>Eric: You arrive with the rest of the group just as Bartly breaks through the cover of the treeline and brashly advances down the hill towards the cabin.

>Minna: You quickly join the others, however your quick pace has brought you the realization that you are also getting quite hungry. Even brief intense combat certainly burns calories quickly.

>Bartly: As you close on the cabin, you see that the door is unlocked. The dirt in front of the door is well traveled and appears to head towards the path you noticed that was cut into the clearing. You knock twice and hear nothing, however the scent of venison is becoming overwhelming, quite clearly coming from inside.

>Faye: You take a knee and examine the path leading towards the cottage. There are fresh tracks of three fully grown men. One of them wears spurs, but there are no horse tracks to be seen. They have traveled this path extremely recently.
Additionally there are much older tracks, perhaps a week or so, which have also used the path. A man and a woman. The man walks with a limp and chews tobacco. The woman has a small frame. She must like dandelions, she stopped to pick a few, and they are only now beginning to recover.

The Bard looks disconcerted by something, and everyone around you is hungry.

Eric moves up to Bartly, and places the spiked head of his mace into the dirt. "Excuse me," He calls to the domicile, "I am father Eric of the town of Wickenshire. My band and I are seeking refuge for the night. May we enter?"

Minna's stomach growls and she grimaces, but the overwhelming smell of venison quickens her pace towards the cabin. She looks over to the bard with a smile "Best we be thankin those poor sods, a hot meal and a warm bed sound a might bit better than sleepin on the ground and eating hardtack"

She holsters her hatchets and takes another swig from her flask, grimacing as the strong liqour burns her throat. She holds the flask towards pistol "ya thirsty?"

Faye turns to Minna avoiding pistols eyes and tells her "recently 3 men have been here along with 2 others a man with a limp and a small woman."

Minna looks over to Faye, still holding out the flask to Pistol, and says with a smile "Well you got some keen eyes on ya dont'cha, best i don't try to run from you eh?" Minna lowers the flask from pistol and takes another swig "You thinking they'll be back? i'd prefer to be the one sleeping in a warm bed and not a hole in the ground"

Karl hurries to catch up with the others. Once in the tree line with eyes on the cabin he surveys the area. Beasts are attracted to blood and violence, he looks to the woods around then for sign and listens for heavy wing beats. (Beast knowledge).

"The man and woman have been gone for a week, the three men's tracks are fresh. They could be the men we encountered on the road"

Minna furrows her brow slightly before saying "well, unless my math is worse than i thought, theres only two corpses out there right now. Best we keep our senses keen case somebody comes knocking, maybe with friends."
